The warehouse automation project is for a roller conveyor system combined with conveyor belts. The project is carried out on 3 floors and ground floor. The products are transported in plastic boxes on the conveyor system, they are raised and lowered from the upper floors with elevators with circular operation. Each box is directed according to its destination. The destination is read by scanning the barcode on each box. The automation system communicates through an OPC server with the main warehouse server.
The automation system is composed of the following technologies:
– Siemens PLC: Siemens CPU 1500 and CPU 1200
– Communication protocols: Profinet, TCP, AS-i, USI.
– Operating panel (HMI) are from Siemens KTP1200 and KTP700.
– The conveyor belts have asynchronous motors operated by frequency converter from the Sinamics V20 range
– The roller conveyors are driven by DC motors integrated into the roller. The communication with them is achieved through the AS-i protocol
The programming was done in the format LADDER, Functio Block, SC through the tool Siemens Totally Integrated Automation Portal (TIA Portal)
